Wonsqueak Harbor

by E.D. Harper

Once you have cut clean the face fog
And tuned breath to the tides
Don’t play dolls but throw bones
To the beavers
They can use them for their dams
Flies will baste in sweat and
The ramrod tree trunk will rise
From salty creek and ooze

E.D. drifted from Maine to the desert three decades ago and has happily rooted herself in Albuquerque in an old house near the railyards. Between crafting poems she works a day job, wanders a bit, draws and paints, occasionally writes articles and books, and helps other artists make strange and sometimes wondrous things appear in public. She is grateful to the Manzano Mountain Review for being the first to publish one of her poems.
