Little Wolf #1
March 2017

Notes from the editors:

UNM-Valencia, Little Wolf is for your words and your art. This zine is the UNM-VC voice of the Manzano Mountain Review.

In the past few years, I have worked with many students on this campus who deserve publication for their work and—more than that— an encouragement. Your writing is not just a series of research citations or assignment prompts. Your writing is always your expression and your experience. You see a world that no one else does.

This literary/art community is yours, and we want to publish your creative work. We hope that Little Wolf will be published monthly, congruent with our new Student Reading series in the Writing Center and will soon be found online at  manzanomountainreview.com with our submission information.

Thank you for reading our first issue. We hope that you will soon be able to see your work in Little Wolf. Please encourage your friends and classmates to share their work as well. A community full of active imagination will always create the most amazing art.

This magazine, and the impetus behind it, is a relatively recent invention. While trying to come up with a name for our sister journal, Manzano Mountain Review, we made a list of names and one of those names was Little Wolf.

There was something about it, a name that Kristian and I struggled to abandon to the dustbin of nearly named journals. So we decided to make a subsidiary zine, featuring the work of UNM-Valencia Campus students. I am excited to see the first issue of Little Wolf go to print. Hope you like it.
